Baked Macaroni with Eggs Recipe

1/2 cup macaroni 
1 quart water 
1 1/2 teaspoons salt 

Cook the macaroni in boiling salted water according to the general directions given. Prepare the cream sauce as follows: 

2 cups milk, or part cream 
4 tablespoons flour 
3/4 teaspoon salt 
1/2 clove garlic, cut fine, if desired 

Put the flour in a small bowl, and with a batter whip stir it smooth with three tablespoons of milk. Heat the remainder of the milk, to which the garlic has been added, to boiling, in a double boiler, then stir the flour mixture into it. Allow it to cook ten minutes, add the salt.Put the cooked macaroni in alternate layers with sliced hardboiled eggs into a small baking dish, spreading some of the cream sauce over each layer. Sprinkle the top with zwieback crumbs, and bake till it begins to boil up through. 

I love Italian food and this is excellent macaroni.
