Yes, we are still in business, one of the oldest and most revered Corvette Clubs in the world. Being fans, even fanatical about the Chevrolet Corvette, we could never become bored or world-weary. Just stop for a minute and think about the car we all worship, then you’ll know exactly why we are still lively and still on our toes. We jump for joy every time Chevrolet puts a new Corvette onto the market, we want to and we have to because, you see, we are this car’s biggest fans.

Over 7 generations of automobile history, we have venerated this superb car for its exclusivity, its exotic good looks and its speed, speed, speed. From the 1954 Corvette Convertible, through the Corvette Stingray Coupé in ’65, the Corvette Stingray Convertible in ’71, ’92’s Corvette Z12, the 2006 model- the Corvette Hardtop Coupé, the Corvette ZR1 in 2012 and the fabulous Corvette Z06 in 2015, we have loved them all.

We love to sit around and discuss the stats for hours: the interiors, the headlamps, the engines, the speed, the price, the cachet of the Corvette. We even approve of the location in which they are manufactured: Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Did you know that the Corvette has even won Awards and been used as a pace-car at the Indianapolis 500? The Corvette was designated as the Best Engineered Car of the Twentieth Century by the magazine Automotive Engineering International. In 2014, it won the North American Car of the Year Award . The website placed the ’63 Corvette Stingray as 16th in the competition for The 100 Best Cars of All Time.

Did you know that in 1986, Chuck Yeager, the famous astronaut, drove a Chevy Corvette? Did you even realise that the Corvette has appeared in the movies? Yes it really has, in the movies Transformers- Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers- Dark of the Moon. Yes, this car is deservedly famous.

At the Corvette Club of Los Angeles we have all these facts at our fingertips, and even more about our top favourite automobile. All our activities are based around the ‘Vette, as we fondly call it. The only condition you must fulfil to be member of our club, is that you must drive a Corvette. Yes, all our members are ‘Vette drivers; many of them have never driven any other model of car.

As a club, we enjoy showing our ‘Vettes off to each other and telling stories about our experiences while driving a ‘Vette. Some of the drivers on the road, those that don’t drive a ‘Vette, seem to go green with envy any time that they see one us, as we master any conditions the roads can throw at us, and do this in style.

A Corvette is the perfect car to drive around Los Angeles, it makes you feel like a film director or even a movie star. We always feel like Kings and Queens of the road in our “Vettes.

Our Club is a not-for-profit organisation, but we are always in generous spirits and we do give some assistance to local charities that support children, as well as helping the Elks Club Arcadia in all their local fundraisers. We like to make our presence known in the community and we enjoy keeping a high and spirited profile.

I guess it’s just something about driving a Chevrolet Corvette that makes us feel that way. We are a club that is based on enjoyment- enjoyment of each others company, and enjoyment of our ‘Vettes and all ‘Vette related activities. We also enjoy sharing an interest in and knowledge about our cars and spreading the word about their driving pleasure and ownership. What car are we talking about? The Chevy Corvette of course!
